Camso acquires Southern Industrial Tyres in a bid to strengthen its off-the-road tire leadership position within the UK

Magog, Quebec, February 2, 2016 – Camso – formerly Camoplast Solideal – has acquired long-time client, Southern Industrial Tyres Ltd., in a strategic effort to strengthen its Material Handling tire distribution and service business in the UK.

Located in Kent, just one hour from London’s City centre, Southern Industrial Tyres has built a great reputation by having a fully self-sufficient on-site service for fleet checks, tire fitment, professional wheel exchange, foam filling and puncture proofing, as well as environmental disposal.

“The addition of Southern Industrial Tyres and its team to the Camso family is an important and valued move for us. It strengthens our tire distribution footprint as well as our service offering in the UK,” says Gregory Fossey, Vice-President, Material Handling – EMEA at Camso.

This acquisition enhances Camso’s leadership position in the UK and provides complimentary offerings in line with the company’s vision for tire service, bringing a greater capacity to serve, even better and faster, its already strong client base.

“We will continue to build upon the more than forty years of dedicated, professional and passionate service that Southern Industrial Tyres customers have come to expect, for all their industrial tire needs,” concludes Fossey.
